About Learning

"What I hear, I forget.
What I see, I remember.
What I do, I understand."
- Confucius

Although there are clear therapeutic outcomes from Method, Dr. Feldenkrais strongly emphasised his approach as a way for people to learn and change.

Some of the aspects of organic learning may be new to some people. Thus we have found resources to help you. MHA Institute has a very Feldenkrais-like approach to thinking about how people learn. They have developed a very attractive series of web pages informing us of the natural cognitive aspects of learning and change.

“If you can learn from hard knocks, you can also learn from soft touches.”
-- Carolyn Kenmore

FELDENKRAIS lessons are intended to allow the student to discover how to embody new concepts, to foster increased level of functioning, physically, emotionally, academically and socially. Most of the lessons touch on the following topics in conventional cognitive ways, but they also draw the student to deeper levels, allowing the student to experience for themselves (e.g. “embody”) the concept. (more...)

We have a hunger of the mind which asks for knowledge of all around us,
and the more we gain, the more is our desire; the more we see,
the more we are capable of seeing
. -- Maria Mitchell
