Tuesdays Evenings, Oct 31 - Dec 19
Use Feldenkrais to Improve your walking comfort.
Our skeletal structure evolved to help us walk with ease, efficiency, and pleasure. Walking is one of the healthiest things we can do for ourselves! But, old injuries, disease (such as Parkinson's) and sedentary postural habits can rob us of our pleasure in walking, as time goes by. Don't walk less! Instead, come to this class. Persons with significant walking challenges are encouraged to start with the "Happy Hips and Low Back" series.
In the class you will discover new ways of moving and using your back and hips to help awaken and free them. You will do gentle movements under guided instruction and with awareness. These will be done while sitting, standing and lying on the floor.
All you need to attend this workshop is a desire to learn new ways of moving. All movements can be modified for individual needs.
8-week series on Tuesday evenings, starting October 31 at 7 pm
Calgary Jewish Centre, 1607 90 Avenue SW (call 253-8600 to register)
Please plan to arrive five minutes before your first class to register.
What to Wear. Wear loose, comfortable clothing. Sometimes the classroom can be cool, so socks are recommended. At the beginning of class you will want to remove jewelry or earrings, belts with buckles and items from your pockets (e.g. keys) which may become uncomfortable. During the class you will remove your glasses.
